Brothers and sisters, the Holy Spirit has guided you here. This is the only place in the world with the answer to the most enigmatic time-period passages in the Bible:

These and other Bible verses all point to Jesus' glorious return to earth in 25 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

After the book was published, I gave away 125 copies to friends and interested parties. This resulted in many follow-up questions. Other questions have come as I have explained my ideas to people over the years. Below are the Q&A.

QUESTIONS ABOUT ISLAM

Q: Do you really believe that Jesus will return in the year AD 2036?

A: Absolutely. There is not a sliver of a shadow of a doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ will descend from the sky in the year AD 2036 and put an end of human history. I would never dare to write one word about God that I was not certain was correct.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: But, in the book, you state that Jesus will return between AD 2033 and AD 2039. What is the true year?

A: True, some of the timelines fall a few years before AD 2036, and one falls later (in AD 2039). I think the earlier timelines are referring to the end of Islam as a viable world religion, and the end of technological innovation a couple years before the end of the world (due to natural disasters near the climax of the Tribulation).

Nevertheless, I am confident that the Second Coming will occur sometime after Easter Sunday, April 13, 2036—perhaps that summer.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: On page 89 you claim that you are the only living person with a Bible verse written specifically about himself. Do you stand by this?

A: Yes. God the Holy Spirit was referring to me when He inspired the Apostle John to write the first part of Revelation 13:18. It was foretold in this verse that someone with understanding would calculate the Number of the Beast. I calculated it; therefore I am that person.

The calculation could not have been simpler:

(AD 661) – (6 BC) = 666 years

It is the difference between:

  • the year of the birth of the Christ (the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth)
  • and the year of the death of the Antichrist (the Son of Perdition, Ali ibn Abi Talib)

Moreover, this 666 year differential is reinforced three other times to parallel the baptism of Jesus, the crucifixion of Jesus, and the spreading forth of Jesus' Gospel from Jerusalem.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: In the calculation above (and elsewhere) you are one year off. Doesn't it come to 667 years?

A: No. Remember that there is no 'year zero' in the Christian calendar, so it comes to exactly 666 years.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: Wasn't Jesus born in the year AD 1?

A: No, the Gregorian calendar is four to five years off. Jesus was conceived in 6 BC and born in 5 BC. God allowed the calendar to be off so that this truth (about the meaning of the Number of the Beast, and the identity of the Son of Perdition) would be hidden until the very end of the End Times (Daniel 12:9). It was revealed to me in AD 2004 through prayer, reading, and meditation.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: Revelation says that the Number of the Beast is the number of a man. It does not say that it is a period of years. How do you justify this interpretation?

A: My grandfather was born in AD 1882, lived 80 years (although the Muslims tried to kill him more than once), and finally died of stomach cancer in AD 1962. The numbers associated with my grandfather are 1882 and 1962. All people with gravestones likewise have their numbers chiseled into their rock. That is their mark—the number of their name.

Ali's number is 666 because he was the prototypical Antichrist.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: How can you be so sure of yourself?

A: Because of how the timelines fit the historic record.

Leonardo Da Vinci said,

No human investigation can be called true science without passing through mathematical
tests.

If the 666, the 70 weeks, the 1260 days/42 months, the 1290 days, the 1335 days, the 1000 years, the 5 months, and the 601 years, did not fit together so exquisitely, I would not have even begun to write this down. But it does fit together, and this leaves no doubt: Jesus Christ will put an end to the wickedness on planet earth within this generation.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: Do you believe in the Rapture? If so, will it take place before the Tribulation?

A: I believe that on the last day—on the day of the Second Coming of Christ—there will first be a resurrection of the dead, and then those who are alive on that day will be transformed in an instant to receive the same incorruptible body that the resurrected dead will receive.

This will be the same type of trans–corporeal body that Jesus received on Easter Sunday. Then all the believers will go to be with the Lord in heaven.

God will raise us from death by the same power that he used when he raised our Lord to life.
[1 Corinthians 6:14, CEV]

I do not believe that this event will take place seven years, or three and a half years, before the Second Coming (i.e., either at the beginning, or the middle, of the Tribulation), as is taught by unbiblical Premillennial Dispensationalists.

return to questions about the timeline

Q: Is Christian T. Jacobsen your real name?

A: No, it is a pen name. I have no desire to be famous.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: When did you realize these things? When did you write the book? When did you make this website?

A: The main idea about the meaning of the 1290 days / 1335 days of Daniel 12:11–12 came as an epiphany while I was praying and meditating in February 2004. The other insights (i.e., about the 666, 1260 days, the Mark of the Beast, etc.) followed soon thereafter.

Some parts of the book were written in 2004 and 2005. Intensive research and writing began in November 2005 and ended in May 2007. After that there was a period of proof-reading, editing, fact-checking, graphic design, adding citations, gaining copyright permissions, and typesetting. The book was finally sent to the presses in July 2008.

I made the website in the autumn of 2010, and began to market the book in the autumn of 2011.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: What is the goal of your book and website?

A: Threefold:

  • to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • to persuade people that the Millennium is about to close, the Tribulation is about to begin, and that the End of the World is coming in AD 2036
  • to dissuade people from believing in Premillennial Dispensationalism

For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.
[Revelation 19:10, NLT]

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: What is your church denomination?

A: I prefer to keep that private. I will say that I am a devout Protestant who confesses the three Ecumenical Creeds, believes in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible, and believes in the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: In what majors are your college degrees?

A: I have four accredited degrees in engineering and science.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: Why did God choose you to reveal these truths?

A: I have no idea. I set out to write a romance novel. After I had written 100 pages of the love story, I sent it to a friend to critique and he told me that it was awful. He said that I kept having the characters in the novel veer off-topic into dialogs about theology. He advised me to scrap the book, and to start over with a non-fiction book about religion and history.

I took my friend's advice and AD 2036 Is The End is what I produced.

All I can say is that God is gracious.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: Aren't you just another charlatan trying to make money at the expense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Why should I have to pay money to learn the truth about God?

A: My goodness, I hope that I am not like those other people. Let's see...

  • My book is true—most other (i.e., Premillennial Dispensationalist) books about the Second Coming are completely false:

    • For example, the Christian Zionist, Edgar Whisenant, sold 4.5 million copies of 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988. He once said, "Only if the Bible is in error am I wrong" (a sure sign that he was a false prophet), and he bet his life that the Rapture would occur on the Jewish holy day of Rosh Hashana. In September 1988, regular programming on the idiotic Trinity Broadcast Network was interrupted with special reports on how to prepare for the Rapture. When nothing happened on his predicted date, Whisenant followed-up for another nine years with new books and new predictions. Whisenant died at the age of 68, having made millions on lies about God Almighty.
    • Another favorite example is the Christian Zionist, Hal Lindsey, who sold 28 million copies of The Late, Great Planet Earth (1970). Lindsey was also expecting the end to come around 1988, since that would mark one generation from the foundation of the modern state of Israel. Lindsey followed-up with the book, "The 1980s: Countdown to Armageddon". In both books he emphasizes the eschatological significance of the Soviet Union and the Cold War—WHICH ARE NOW OVER. This old fool is still on the idiotic Trinity Broadcasting Network every week with The Hal Lindsey Report. He never apologizes, or even acknowledges, his previous errors. He is 81 years old, and will soon have to face judgment having made millions on lies about God Almighty.

How am I different from these charlatans? In many ways (keep reading the bullet points below), but I want to state here-and-now that I have a very well developed sense of shame, and if the calendar keeps ticking past AD 2036 (and also if there has not been a horrendous Tribulation during the twenty years before that), I'm not going to be peddling different books, or appearing as an End Times expert on television. And I would never say that the Bible must be in error if my prediction about AD 2036 does not come true. I would be mortified with embarrassment, and would spend the rest of my life in penance for having lied about God Almighty.

I am not at all worried about it, though. I know that what I have written is the truth. God will vindicate me, and the truth will be plain well before AD 2036.

  • My book contains previously unknown material. It contains the mystery of the ages (i.e., the explanation of the 666, and the 1290 days/1335 days). It is a contribution to the field of Christian eschatology, if ever there was one. The pap churned out by the Dispensationalists is the same as they have told ad nauseam since it was dreamt up by John Nelson Darby in the 1830's! They just repackage it and resell it to gullible Evangelicals who take these lies as Gospel.

You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We
preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God
is watching us. [2 Corinthians 2:17, NLT]

  • This is my first book. I might someday publish a shorter, more digestible, version of it, but I can't stand it when Christian authors or TV personalities take advantage of a franchise by marketing endless books and accessories that have essentially the same message.

    • Of course, the greatest example of this exploitation are the SIXTEEN 'Left Behind' End Times novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. And this was not enough for them. No, they also commissioned movies, video games, board games, albums, graphic novels, FORTY kids' books, toys, t-shirts, etc. Good golly, they are not ashamed? They ought to be! They are milking the tits off a very unoriginal idea (the same lies as Whisenant and Lindsey, above) .
  • I do not solicit donations, neither for my book, nor my website, nor my many charitable endeavors.
  • I am as poor and humble as a church mouse. You should see the car I drive! My book has been a huge financial loss for me thus far. If God ever allows me to make a profit selling my book, that would be okay with me. But I don't need to see my face on television, or to have people know my name. God knows my name, and God is preparing a special place for me in heaven.
  • Many people have told me that the book is riveting, an excellent historical review, and that I have a gift for storytelling and humorous prose. That makes me happy. But the fact is that you don't have to buy my book to get the truth about the Second Coming of Christ and the meaning of life—it's all right here on this website. I made this website specifically for the free propagation of the truth about the Second Coming. Download the book for free!  And if you have further questions, write to me, and I will post the answers.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: If all the important points are to be found at www.ad2036.com, then why should I buy 'AD 2036 Is The End'?

A: There are a lot of proofs, details, background material, and wisdom in the book that cannot easily be explained in this format. Read the Foreword, Preface, Epilogue, and Glossary, and see if it grabs you. If you are intrigued, feel free to download the pdf and start reading. If you want to enjoy the artistry of my writing in paperback form, buy the book.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: Why is the book so expensive?

A: The book retails for $34.95. You can find it online for a lower price. The retail price was set by my publisher and is based upon the number of pages. You can buy the e-book for only $6, or you can download the pdf directly onto your e-book reader, tablet computer, or smartphone.

return to questions about the author and the book

Q: What, exactly, do Christians believe?

A: You will often hear people answer this question with a platitude like, "Christians believe in being nice," or a vagary like, "Christians believe in Jesus," or "Christians believe in the Bible."

Such answers are useless because:

  • not everything Jesus taught was nice
  • cultists like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Zionists, and Oneness Pentecostals also 'believe in Jesus'
  • the Antichrist (i.e., the Muslim religion) espouses the Bible as a holy book

The answer to what Christians believe is found in the Three Ecumenical Creeds. Anyone who entrusts his or her soul to the God of these truths, and has been baptized with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is a Born Again Christian.

return to questions about Christianity

Q: Why were you not more critical of the Roman Catholic Church in your book?

A: The Roman Catholic Church is better, by comparison, than the other denominations that I criticized harshly. The Catholic Church confesses the correct Christology (i.e., Chalcedonianism and Filioqueanism), holds steadfastly to the Three Ecumenical Creeds, and is correct on most of the important social issues. Pope Benedict XVI is my Christian brother, and I love him.

If I had to choose, I would throw my lot in with the Roman Catholic Church over:

  • the Oriental Orthodox churches, that reject the dual nature of Christ
  • the Eastern Orthodox churches, that reject the procession of the Holy Spirit from God the Son
  • the Nestorian churches that reject the single Personhood of Christ
  • the ultra-Baptist churches that preach the 'prosperity gospel,' and that also teach that today's Jews who reject Jesus Christ are God's Chosen People
  • the liberal churches that preach the 'social-justice gospel,' and perform gay marriage ceremonies, and allow their clergymen to be practicing homosexuals, and approve of abortion, and provide for abortions for their female clergy

Furthermore, none of the churches mentioned in these bullets truly embrace the Augustinian definition of the Doctrine of Original Sin, as do the Roman Catholics and Confessional Protestants.

return to questions about Christianity

Q: You state on page 311, "everything that has ever happened to anyone... has happened with God's tacit permission." Are you sure about that?

A: Yes, absolutely. If this were not so, then God would not be omnipotent and omniscient. But, of course, God is omnipotent and omniscient. There is nothing that happens that He cannot prevent. And there is nothing that fails to happen that He could not have done. Don't hate Him. He is glorious.

return to questions about Christianity

Q: Do you believe that it is God's intention that innocent children should be abused?

A: It depends what you mean by 'intention.' When President Truman ordered atomic bombs to be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, tens of thousands of civilians were burned to death. Many of these people were innocent little kids. Does this mean that it was our president's intention to vaporize children? If he had those little Japanese kids at the White House, would he have tied them up, thrown them onto the White House lawn, poured gasoline on them, lit a match, and toasted marshmallows over their corpses? Of course not. He was not a psychotic murderer. But he still signed the order for the bombings because it was his intention to end the war. People always forget that he had a responsibility to our POWs (who were being killed daily by sadistic Japanese prison camp guards) to end the war as quickly as possible.

So it is wrongheaded, simplistic, and cruel to say to a person that is suffering, "This is God's will for you." God wishes the best for us. He loves us. All the bad things that happen are the devil's fault. The devil and wicked people are the ones doing and enjoying bad things, but God is the one allowing the devil and wicked people to act. The bad things could never happen without God giving His permission.

Read the first two chapters of the Book of Job — the devil comes to God and says, "May I have permission to harm Job?" God says, "Okay, but only this much."

return to questions about Christianity

Q: Why, if God is all-loving in addition to being omnipotent and omniscient, doesn't He stop suffering now?

A: The only answers are that:

  • all humanity (including babies) are under the curse of original sin
  • the suffering is temporary (i.e., limited to this world)
  • the suffering is reversible in the afterlife
  • there is a definitive (not theoretical), near-term, end to this world of suffering that will occur on the calendar date of Second Coming
  • God is allowing this temporary world of suffering to go on (for about six thousand years) for a greater good purpose
  • the period of the temporary suffering (i.e., the six thousand years) is as short as it can be for His greater good purpose—He will not allow it to continue for one extra day than is necessary
  • God is doing all He can do (including becoming a man and suffering Himself) to bring all who can be saved into His eternal Kingdom before the final day

return to questions about Christianity

Q: It sounds from your previous three answers like God is capricious and that life is a fatalistic crap-shoot: bad things happen all the time, God allows them to befall various people, and there is nothing that one can do but wait and hope for the end of the world. Is this the case?

A: Certainly not! You can accept Jesus' gift of eternal life, get baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and become one of God's Chosen People. Remember, membership has its privileges!

It is the devil's lie—a complete fallacy—to say that all people on earth are equally likely to have misfortune befall them. God protects His people. If you call yourself a Christian, but you lack peace and joy in your heart, something is wrong. If you feel unprotected by your Heavenly Father, something is wrong. Take a look at your behavior, your attitudes, your church life, your inner thoughts, your daily walk with Christ, your usefulness to the Kingdom of God, and then admit that the fault lies within your heart. God is trying to sanctify you, and you will have none of it.

STOP FOLLOWING THE LEAD OF THE DEVIL AND REPENT.

As I say in the book, "Repentance is like bathing: a clean person does it everyday—then he clothes himself in the Word of God."

I have given the following advice to several friends, and they have thanked me for it:

  • begin each day by...
    • reading a chapter, or half a chapter, from the Bible
    • getting on your knees and praying the Lord's Prayer
    • confessing any specific sins that you can think of, and then confessing all the sins that are heinous in the eyes of God and your fellow Christians, but about which you are completely oblivious (or, worse yet, sins that you count yourself righteous for doing)
    • blessing your enemies by name
    • talking with God about anything else that's on your mind
    • making the sign of the cross over your heart
  • and also find a Christ-centered, Bible-based, church to worship in on Sunday morning

Try this, and see life through new eyes.

Also, never forget that God can and will use all things for His glory and our good, if we are on His side. If you want the worst thing that has ever befallen you to turn out to be a personal victory, then accept Christ and walk with Him daily. You will be a winner.

return to questions about Christianity

Q: The Bible speaks of God being a jealous God. If God is a perfect and solo God, how can he be jealous?

A: God is love. Everything He does is out of love. He knows that life is found only in Him. He wants for us to have that life. He is jealous for our affection in a good way—in the way that a father is protective for his teenage daughter's virtue. If a father discovers that his daughter has been having sex with various members of the high school football team, he grieves for the loss of the life that she could have had if she had maintained her purity. God feels this way when we take our purity in Christ and put it under subjugation to worldly influences.

The Apostle Paul complained to the church that he had planted in Corinth, Greece:

I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy, because I have promised you in marriage to
one husband—to present a pure virgin to Christ. But I fear that, as the serpent deceived
Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted from a complete and pure devotion to
Christ. For if a person comes and preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach,
or you receive a different spirit, which you had not received, or a different gospel,
which you had not accepted, you put up with it splendidly! [2 Corinthians 11:2–4, HSBC]

return to questions about Christianity

Q: You claim that the universe is only 6,000 years old, but that it appears to be 13.5 billion years old. Why did God try so hard to fool us with the physical evidence?

A: Stop being such an ingrate. It's unseemly. It was not God's intention to fool us; it was His intention to provide for us, and He did so perfectly.

Anyone who knows anything about Earth Science can testify that a planet that appears to be only 6,000 year old would not be a suitable place for human habitation (to say nothing of a universe that appears to be only 6,000 years old!). So God sped up time during the first six days of Creation, and then set the current time paradigm in place.

This explanation is only frustrating to those that piss away their lives looking into the physical world for evidence that will justify their unbelief in God and His Providence.

return to questions about science

Q: You label Evolutionism (a subset of Rationalism) as the False Prophet of the Book of Revelation. Why do you, a supposed scientist, deny the overwhelming evidence in favor of Evolution?

A: Ugh. What evidence? The fossil record? The fossil record certainly does not support the theory of Evolution through gradual mutative change over billions of years. Most phyla appeared in a span of ~10 million years during the Cambrian Explosion, ~530 million years ago. There is nothing in the fossil record to support the Theory of Evolution over the billions of years before that. And between the Cambrian Explosion and now, there are enormous gaps in the fossil record between species that are supposed to be descended, one from another. The idea of gradual, direct, line-of-progression from primitive life to complex life is fiction.

Or maybe you are referring to the 'evidence' of similar form or similar DNA code in animals—such as the fact that the female of all mammal species produce milk, or that all primates have five digit hands and feet. These facts prove precisely... nothing.

Or you could be referring to the evidence that evolutionists have from animals, such as the fruit fly, changing due to mutations—except that no one has ever contested that species can have traits genetically modified (e.g., growing an extra pair of deformed wings), or that recessive genes could be brought out within a species. The latter is the entire point behind selective breeding in dogs, or hybridization in corn. But the fact is that no one has ever observed one species changing into a species of a different family or genus due to genetic mutations or anything else. That is impossible.

If you were to prove to me mathematically that Evolution was real, I would accept its legitimacy. But you cannot. It is a faux science. I will not even debate the subject with people; it is inarguable that Evolution is a farce. Most people in the United States know this instinctively, and reject Evolution out-of-hand.

The only reason that the theory that mankind evolved upward from slime mold is taken seriously anywhere on the face of the earth is that it:

  • provides academic biologists with an income
  • provides cover (however weak) to those who have a problem with a transcendental God

I think it is outrageous and pathetic that Charles Darwin lies beside Sir Isaac Newton (the greatest scientist of all time) in Westminster Abbey.

If you think my religion biases me, watch this non–Christian skeptic of Evolution. I discovered this guy after I wrote my book; his comments prove that great minds think alike.

return to questions about science

Q: But, again, you claim that the earth is only 6,000 years old. How do you justify this absurd claim? If you will not consider Evolution, what about the scientific evidence from Geology and Astronomy and Paleontology that prove that the earth is not 6,000 years old?

A: Unlike the situation with Evolution (which is a joke), you have a point here. The true, mathematically-reproducible, sciences of Geology and Astronomy and Paleontology certainly support the notion that the universe and earth are much, much, older than the Bible says that they are. Most scientists believe that the universe is >13.5 billion years old, and I have no issue with this. The scientists are reporting the evidence.

But even Bertrand Russell (I am loath to cite him) conceded,

There is no logical impossibility in the hypothesis that the world sprang into being five minutes
ago, exactly as it then was, with a population that 'remembered' a wholly unreal past.

This is essentially what I believe about the evidence for an ancient universe, except that I would date the world that "sprang into being" at 6,000 years ago.

So when I pick up an igneous rock, I don't say, "Ooo, this rock is very old; it dates to 5999.99 years ago when the earth was just forming."—I'm not stupid.

But are you stupid? That's the real question here...

Read my book. There is a world full of evidence to show that something else is going on besides what the natural sciences suggest. Documented supernatural miracles occur every year in the name of the Triune God. They've even occurred in my own family. Curiously, these things do not occur in the name of other gods, such as the Mormon god, or the Muslim god, or the Jewish god.

For example, on October 13, 1917, tens of thousands of people saw the sun dance in the sky for ten minutes in central Portugal in testimony to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It was also witnessed by people miles away who were unaware of the mass-gathering in the small town of Fatima.

This is not mythology from thousands of years ago; it is a well-documented, modern-day, historic fact. There are photographs of the occasion. It was witnessed by journalists, secular politicians, and scientists. Articles about it appeared contemporaneously in the New York Times. The shepherd girl at the center of this phenomenon just died in AD 2005.

Evolutionists and Rationalists ignore this historic event—just as they ignore the Cambrian Explosion.

Please explain how it is scientifically possible for:

  • a 2 x 1030 kilogram orange ball of fire
  • that is fixed at the center of our solar system
  • at a distance of 1.5 x 108 kilometers from earth
  • with a corona temperature of 5,000,000 K
  • to suddenly turn opaque, so that you can stare at it
  • and spin like a top
  • and dive-bomb toward a Portuguese village in a zigzag pattern
  • and throw-off radiant beams of light in every color of the visible spectrum
  • and heat the ground to dry-up a torrential rain
  • on a predetermined day and hour
  • for ten minutes straight
  • at the command of an apparition of a Jewish Virgin
  • who lived 1,900 years beforehand in the Roman province of Galilee
  • and then return to its fixed place and original properties at the center of our solar system

Please explain this using your vaunted scientific method, and then I will answer your question about my 'absurd claim' that the earth is really 6,000 years old and only appears to be billions of years old.

By the way, do you know the definition of a hypocrite? Pick up a mirror.

return to questions about science

Q: Why does God not show Himself?

A: Because He knows that there are people who will never believe in Him unless it is shown to be in their immediately and permanent interest to believe in Him. God is not interested in this kind of relationship. He wants respect and love from His human creatures, not malice and manipulation.

Jesus replied, "My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light."
After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them.
But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him. This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted:
"Lord, who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?"
But the people couldn't believe, for as Isaiah also said,
"The Lord has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts—
so that their eyes cannot see,
and their hearts cannot understand,
and they cannot turn to me
and have me heal them."
Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this, because he saw the future and spoke of the
Messiah's glory. Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders.
But they wouldn't admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue.
For they loved human praise more than the praise of God. [John 12:35–43, NLT]

The evidence for God is all around us; it is absolutely undeniable. But God is simply too much of a Gentleman to bribe or threaten people into praising Him. He is waiting to see who will respond without coercion—without anything more than the promise of a loving relationship with Him.

Those of you who demand visible proof will get it—on the last day, when it will be too late to do you any good.

return to questions about science

Q: Do you believe in UFOs / aliens?

A: Absolutely not. I believe God created the entire universe for mankind. I would not be surprised to learn that there are bacteria on other planets, or even multi-celled life forms. But I am sure that there are no 'humanoids.'

The fact that the universe is infinite and that we occupy one tiny, nondescript, planet is not a sign of wastefulness—it is a sign of God's greatness and provision.

return to questions about science

Q: You make more of Caliph Ali than you do of the Prophet Muhammad. Why do you claim that Ali was the Son of Perdition? Is it solely because of the year of Ali's death?

A: Much is recorded about the life or traditions of Muhammad in the Hadith, but none of it was written until over 200 years after his supposed death. The Qur'an only mentions the word 'Muhammad' four times, and the Qur'an was written 120 years after Muhammad's death. It is not clear if there ever was a person named Muhammad, or what his teachings really were.

Ali, on the other hand, is an undeniable historic figure. He was present at the Arab conquest of Jerusalem, and he had a dream of establishing a new world religion once he became Caliph—a religion that would challenge Christian hegemony in the Middle East and beyond.

Let us compare/contrast Jesus the Christ with Ali the Antichrist:

I am certain that Ali is the Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2:3, and that he is the prototypical Antichrist of Revelation 13:18, and that 666 is the number of this evil man.

return to questions about Islam

Q: Your book's premise is that Islam is the antithesis of Christianity. But Christians maintain that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and it is a fact that the Bible contains extremely objectionable passages that condone genocide, infanticide, dismemberment, rape, burning at the stake, capital punishment for failure to observe religious teachings, etc. How do you explain these affronts to civilized norms of behavior? The Bible, like the Qur'an, is full of inconsistencies about how God wants people to act. Are Islam and Christianity really so different?

A: This is a straw dog argument. You are gravely mistaken. Islam and Christianity are as different as night and day.

Let's bring to light the difficult passages to which you refer:

When the Israelite army finished chasing and killing all the men of Ai in the open fields, they went
back and finished off everyone inside. So the entire population of Ai, including men and women, was
wiped out that day—12,000 in all. For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived
in Ai was completely destroyed. [Joshua 8:24–26, NLT]

This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with
the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely
destroy the entire Amalekite nation—men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats,
camels, and donkeys." [1 Samuel 15:2–3, NLT]

If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his
assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand.
Show her no pity. [Deuteronomy 25:11–12, NIV]

If a priest's daughter defiles herself by promiscuity, she defiles her father; she must be
burned up. [Leviticus 21:9, HCSB]

If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are
discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for
he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. [Deuteronomy 22:28–29, NIV]

While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath
day. Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire
community. They placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done
to him. Then the LORD told Moses, "The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to
stone him outside the camp." So the entire community brought him outside the camp and
stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses. [Numbers 15:32–36, HCSB]

I also find these passages extremely objectionable. Any reasonable person would find them so—please don't pretend that your ire places you in a morally superior position to me.

The difference between us is that when faced with something I don't understand in scripture or in life, it is my practice and conviction to show deference to the God of the Bible, rather than to turn upon Him.

I accept the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible as the inerrant Word of God. These dehumanizing passages are in the Holy Bible. How do I reconcile this in my mind? It's not that difficult, really:

  • I know from reading the entire Bible that God does not want for me to cut off women's hands, annihilate non–Christian peoples, butcher snuggly babies, etc. If the entire Bible (or even a significant portion of it) were filled with such bizarre teachings, I would never have taken it seriously to begin with. But the Qur'an is chock-full of these passages.
  • Are you really so disturbed about the laws of Israel from 3000+ years ago? Who are the people killing babies today? Is it the Christians who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, or the Liberals who believe in abortion as a constitutional right? The Republican Congress passed, and President George W. Bush signed,

    • the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002
    • the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003
    • the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004

I voted for George W. Bush two times. These laws would never have been enacted by the men who ran against him, or the Democrats in Congress. There are children alive today who would have been dismembered, suffocated, chemically burned, or de-brained if these laws were not enacted. God knows this, and God also knows whom you support for political office.

  • Where on the face of the earth today are women openly raped, mutilated, beaten, executed, kept under house arrest, forced into prostitution, and forced to live under veils? In Christian nations or in Muslim nations? Why do you pretend that there is a moral equivalency between the two?
  • My reading of the Bible as-a-whole is affirmed by all serious Christian denominations. I defy you to find a church that includes the dehumanizing passages above in their Sunday worship service scripture readings.

Yes, yes, I know about those kooks at the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas who preach hatred against homosexuals—they are universally condemned by the Christian Church. And even those 'Baptist' extremists (they have 71 members, and are not affiliated with any other Baptist convention) are steadfastly against physical violence and racism; their hatred is limited to what comes out of their filthy, hypocritical, mouths—no one is actually being physically harmed by them. But where is the condemnation by Muslim leaders against the very real atrocities that are committed every day by millions of fellow Muslims in the name of the Qur'an?

  • My reading of the Bible as-a-whole is also affirmed by every reputable theologian throughout the ages. Almost five hundred years ago John Calvin taught,

It is pernicious and hateful toward the public welfare to believe that a society is not duly framed unless it is based on the laws of Moses.

Have you ever heard of a Muslim theologian writing the same thing about the Laws of Muhammad? He would be beheaded.

  • For example, here is the third commandment given by God to Moses:

Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of
the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any
of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and
your female servant may rest as well as you. And remember that you were a slave in
the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there by a mighty
hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to
keep the Sabbath day. [Deuteronomy 5:12–15, NKJV]

And here is the interpretation of the third commandment in Luther's Small Catechism:

We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but
hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

THERE IS NOTHING in Luther's teaching about not doing any work on the Sabbath day—which is the entire point of this particular Mosaic law. Is Luther corrupting the Scriptures? By no means! Rather, the Holy Spirit gave him insight about what Jesus meant when He taught, "The Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath." Jesus meant that the purpose of the Sabbath was to establish a special time (i.e., Sunday morning) for God's Chosen People (i.e., the Christians) to calm their restless minds and worship Him (i.e., to hear the proclamation of the Gospel at Church service).

Do you think God is pleased with Christians who neglect to gather with other believers on Sundays to hear His Word, but who relax their arm and leg muscles and make sure that they don't do anything that could be considered 'work' for those 24 hours?

  • Indeed, the Bible is explicit that God wrote Ten Commandments,

Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all
that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the
covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets. [Exodus 34:28, NLT]

And yet when you read them (they are not enumerated), you see that there are only nine commandments. I remember that that stood out to me immediately the first time I read them as a boy.

So in order to come to ten, the Reformed Christians split the first commandment into two separate commandments, and the High Church Christians split the last commandment into two separate commandments.

Don't you think God was trying to tell us something—from the very start of the Mosaic Law—about the ability of human beings to reach perfection through commandment observance?

  • The Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph lived and died before the Ten Commandments were given. And yet they were righteous men before God, and they are alive in Heaven today. How? Because they loved God, feared God, trusted God—which is the purpose of the Ten Commandments.

  • Remember that Jesus Christ Himself directly contradicted one of the Old Testament laws. Moses had commanded,

If a man marries a woman, but she becomes displeasing to him because he finds
something improper about her, he may write her a divorce certificate, hand it to her,
and send her away from his house. [Deuteronomy 24:1, HCSB]

This is in the Holy Bible. And yet Jesus later taught,

Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what
God had originally intended. [Matthew 19:8, NLT]

Why should this inconsistency offend you? God had told Moses, and Moses had told the Israelites,

I will raise up for them a prophet like you. He will be one of their own people. I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him to say. The prophet will speak in my name. But someone might not listen to what I say through the prophet. Then that person will be accountable to me. [Deuteronomy 18:18–19, NIrV]

This prophet was Jesus, the Messiah! The Israelites were instructed to listen to Him. They were instructed to listen to Him even if He broke the Sabbath—even if He declared all foods clean to be eaten—even if He did away with circumcision!!!

  • For God had said to Abraham,

From generation to generation, every male child must be circumcised on the eighth day after his birth... Any male who fails to be circumcised will be cut off... for breaking the covenant. [Genesis 17:12,14, NLT]

    Yet Paul later taught,

For it makes no difference whether or not a man has been circumcised. The important thing is to keep God's commandments. [1 Corinthians 7:19, NLT]

Keep God's commandments? Keep God's commandments?! What about the commandment given above in Genesis 17:12?

I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ. [1 Corinthians 9:21, NLT]

Hmm, maybe there is more to the religion of the Bible than cutting away penis sheathing, and not touching swine's flesh, and letting gentiles carry your water on Saturday...

  • Do not forget that the law of Moses prohibited usury,

Do not charge any interest. [Exodus 22:25, NIrV]

But Jesus taught that God would be displeased with someone who had not at least thought to lend what God gave him at interest,

You could have at least put my money in the bank, so that I could have earned
interest on it. [Matthew 25:27, CEV]

It was God's desire to show a contrast between Law and Gospel,

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus
    Christ. [John 1:17, NKJV]

  • And so again, in keeping with this pattern, God told Moses and Aaron to tell the Israelites,

The pig has evenly split hooves but does not chew the cud, so it is unclean. You may not eat the meat of these animals or even touch their carcasses. [Leviticus 11:7–8, NLT]

Yet the Lord Jesus told His 100% Jewish disciples,

"...the food you put into your mouth cannot make you unclean. It doesn't go into your heart, but into your stomach, and then out of your body." [Mark 7:18–19a, CEV]

And St. Mark (a Jew) commented,

By saying this, Jesus meant that all foods were fit to eat. [Mark 7:19b, CEV]

And St. Paul (a Jew) added,

Eat whatever is offered to you without raising questions of conscience... If I can thank God for the food and enjoy it, why should I be condemned for eating it? [1 Corinthians 10:30, NLT]

Indeed, I know of one particularly neurotic Evangelical family who will not countenance pepperoni on their pizza, but who say nothing when their priest shaves his face in direct violation of Leviticus 21:5.

Do you not see that God has a sense of humor? God has jolly good fun using His Holy Word to make sport of 'Christian' people who do not have a heart for Him. These people exist as examples of how NOT to think, what NOT to say, what NOT to do; they do not exist as examples of Christian piety. Only a fool would take them seriously.

  • Allow me to go even further. The Law stated,

You are not to accept a ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of killing someone; he must be put to death. [Numbers 35:31, HCSB]

Now, King David murdered both Uriah the Hittite and several other innocent men who were serving in his army (2 Samuel 11:24). And yet after David repented, the Prophet Nathan told him,

The Lord has taken away your sin. You will not die. [2 Samuel 12:13, NCV]

David was expecting the punishment proscribed by the Law of Moses, but he did not get it, and the Savior of the world was later called, "the Son of David."

God is very gracious and forgiving.

  • And of course, God specifically forbade prostitution,

Do not defile your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will be filled with prostitution and wickedness. [Leviticus 19:29, NLT]

God had strictly instructed the Israelites,

But in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes, but you shall devote them to complete destruction, the Hittites and the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, as the LORD your God has commanded, that they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices that they have done for their gods, and so you sin against the LORD your God. [Deuteronomy 20:16–18, ESV]

Yet the Israelites spared the life of Rahab the prostitute of Jericho because she hid Israelite spies in her house of prostitution. And this same Rahab went on to become an ancestor (Matthew 1:5) of King David, and thus an ancestor of Jesus Christ.

Jesus, the son of a Virgin, and also the great, great, great... great grandson of a Canaanite prostitute who repented of her sins and joined God's Chosen People.

  • Moreover, Jewish tradition and the Mosaic law gives preference and a double portion to the first born male:

The first-born son in every Israelite family... belong[s] to me...[and] must be bought
back from me. [Numbers 18:15, CEV]

If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him children, and if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved, then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn, but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the firstfruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his. [Deuteronomy 21:15–17, ESV]

But what happened in practice? Who did God choose?

    • Isaac was the second born,
    • Jacob was the second born,
    • Judah was the fourth born,
    • Moses was the second born,
    • David was the eighth born,
    • Solomon was the tenth born

Indeed, I have been given a special privilege, and yet I am,

    • the second born of my father...
    • who was the second born of his father...
    • who was the second born of his father...

This is in-keeping with God's character,

For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at the heart. [1 Samuel 16:7, NKJV]

  • God had commanded Moses,

[A priest] must not marry women defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands, because priests are holy to their God... The woman he marries must be a virgin. He must not marry a widow, a divorced woman, or a woman defiled by prostitution, but only a virgin from his own people, so that he will not defile his offspring among his people. [Leviticus 7, 13–15, NIV]

But the prophet Hosea (poor Hosea!) was told by God,

Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous
wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the LORD. [Hosea 1:2, NIV]

Hosea's miserable marriage was to be an illustration of God's frustration with the people of Israel.

  • And yet again, the Israelites were commanded,

If a man meets a virgin in a city and has sexual relations with her, but she is engaged to another man, you must take both of them to the city gate and put them to death by throwing stones at them. [Deuteronomy 22:23–24, NCV]

But when the Virgin Mary was found to be pregnant, we are told that her betrothed, Joseph,

...being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.
    [Matthew 1:19, ESV]

Why does the Apostle Matthew call Joseph a 'just man'? According to the Bible of the time, Joseph would have been doing God's will if he had exposed Mary as a whore, and had all the people of Nazareth stone her to death. But Joseph made a decision based on love, not on law. And this man was given the responsibility to raise the Son of God.

How can this be? The same Holy Spirit who inspired the Old Testament also inspired the New Testament. And God is not schizophrenic. So what is going on with these maddening inconsistencies? What is God trying to teach us?!

    Blessed Paul explains so well,

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. [Romans 13:8–10, NIV]

  • Thus, when Solomon advises...

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. [Proverbs 26:4, ESV]

And in the very next verse he advises...

Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes. [Proverbs 26:5, ESV]

...this is not a blatant contradiction. Obviously it depends on the fool with whom you are dealing; obviously it is circumstance dependent.

If a cooking book tells you that boiling eggs will turn the inside of the egg from soft to hard, and boiling potatoes will turn the inside of the potato from hard to soft, THE BOOK IS NOT CONTRADICTING ITSELF REGARDING BOILING AS A COOKING TECHNIQUE.

  • So it is with the words of Christ, who at one point said,

If someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other cheek also. [Matthew
    5:39, NCV]

    And at another point said,

If you don't have a sword, sell your coat and buy one. [Luke 22:36, NCV]

Only a simpleton, or someone with an agenda of discrediting Jesus, would claim that Jesus was contradicting Himself.

Clearly, we should turn the other cheek when doing so will glorify God and redound to the benefit of our neighbor; but we should take up arms in self-defense when doing so will glorify God and redound to the benefit of our neighbor.

  • One must understand that the Bible's purpose, from the very beginning, was to point the way to salvation through the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to... give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled. [Romans 15:4, NLT]

If you read the Bible apart from complete deference to Jesus and His loving mission, then you will be led astray as easily as the Pharisees who crucified Jesus while having their noses in the Old Testament every day.

I know only one self-professed 'Christian' in the world who is damn-fool enough to go around saying, "The Bible teaches us to commit genocide; I believe in genocide against unbelieving nations. The Bible teaches that we should kill homosexuals and abortionists; those who kill them have the courage to live-out Biblical principals. The Bible teaches right-of-conquest and plural marriage; we should take the virgin girls from among our enemies and make them our brides. And we should chase all the Roman Catholics out of our country—after all, the Bible teaches us to oppose idol worshipers at all costs."

This self-professed 'Christian' does not, however, believe in:

    • the Holy Trinity
    • the Dual Nature of Christ
    • the Doctrine of Original Sin
    • the Doctrine of Simultaneously Saint and Sinner
    • the imputation of Christ's righteousness upon believers
    • the Doctrine of the Filioque
    • weekly church worship service attendance
    • Holy Baptism
    • Holy Communion
    • Confession and Absolution
    • praying the Lord's Prayer regularly
    • the Second Coming of Christ
    • the bodily resurrection of the dead
    • the miraculous Virgin Birth
    • the order of Christian worship
    • paying homage at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
    • observing the Christian calendar
    • women entering church sanctuaries with their heads uncovered
    • the Jewishness of Jesus
    • the Sunday sabbath
    • tithing of his income
    • women's suffrage either within the church or within society
    • looking upon pictures or statues of Jesus
    • the six-day Creation
    • beautifying cosmetics, fashion, hairstyling, or jewelry of any kind
    • enjoying a ham and cheese sandwich
    • enjoying a glass of wine
    • working or shopping on Sunday
    • kissing a female acquaintance on the cheek as a greeting
    • Christian marriage between persons of differing races
    • minding his own business

So this self-professed 'Christian' is not a Christian at all! He is, rather, an Islamo–Christian, or more precisely, an Antichrist. Should we even consider his interpretation of Scripture? Does he have anything to contribute? Of course not; he does not meet the minimum qualification of a legitimate theologian (i.e., not worshipping Satan). On the last day the Lord Jesus, whom he claims to worship, will look him in the eye and say, "Away from Me evil-doer! I do not know you," and he will be condemned to hell for all eternity.

Again, I warn you, Biblicism apart from the orthodox faith of the Three Ecumenical Creeds is demonism.

  • Nevertheless, regardless of Christian practice, their remains the issue of why God would even choose to include the dehumanizing passages above in His Holy Word.

Some of the difficult Old Testament passages, such as Joshua's conquest of Canaan, are a foreshadowing of Christ's conquest over the sinful world on the last day. Joshua is a literary type for Jesus ('Joshua' or "Y'shua" being the Hebrew pronunciation of the Greek name, 'Jesus'). Just as Joshua and the Israelites left no survivors, the Resurrected Jesus will be complete in His judgment against those who are not the Chosen People (i.e., those who are not Christians) upon His Second Coming. This is His prerogative as the Almighty Creator.

  • Again, the killing of the infants by the Israelites under the command of God is an indication to us that Original Sin is very real. It is by no means a 'given' that all children who die before the 'age of accountability' will go to heaven. I think a good number of them will go to heaven with or without a Christian baptism. But, of course, to be sure about it they should be brought into the family of Christian fellowship through Holy Baptism. In this Holy Sacrament the Holy Spirit implants saving belief, removes the guilt of Original Sin, and seals the child's soul into God's kingdom according to the promise of Christ in Mark 16:16.

  • Try to comprehend God's sovereignty. He made everything; He knows everything; He exists outside of time; He is not limited by three dimensions. There are 1065 atoms in our galaxy, and there are 100 billion galaxies in the universe, and God is in direct control of every atom—every electron—every subatomic particle. This being the case, He can keep track of the motivations of a few billion people.

This world is a drama to God, and He is lovingly orchestrating the drama for His good purposes. If God 'kills' or harms someone in the pages of the Bible, or in our time today, who are you to condemn Him for it?

For example, in Genesis 38:8–10, we are told that one of Judah's sons masturbated immediately before being forced by his father to have sex with his deceased brother's wife. And his intent (i.e., not to impregnate his deceased brother's wife) was evil in the sight of the Lord, and God therefore killed him. Now, whatever our opinions about masturbation and having sexual intercourse with one's sister-in-law, it is an odd story and it seems a harsh punishment.

But then who are we to critique this entry into God's Holy Word? God is engaged in such acts of divine retribution all the time—in our very day-and-age. God is involved in such acts of divine retribution in our very lives, if only we had the eyes to see it!

But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its
molder, "Why have you made me like this?" Has the potter no right over the clay, to
make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for
dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his
power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in
order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has
prepared beforehand for glory—even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only
but also from the Gentiles? [Romans 9:20–24, ESV]

An author has a right to do with his characters as he pleases. Do not find fault with God while deliberately ignoring the evidence of God's loving purpose underlying His affairs on earth.

  • Returning to my previous points in this bullet-list: is it possible that God, in His foreknowledge, included some difficult things in the Bible (e.g., plural marriage among the Old Testament heroes of the faith) and was less-than-explicit about other things (e.g., the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity) to trip-up those who would shun the wisdom of the ages in favor of a dumb list of things to follow?

And he marveled because of their unbelief. [Mark 6:6, ESV]

Is it likewise possible that God sanctioned the deaths of several thousand babies during the conquest of Canaan to show the hypocrisy of those who cite this as cause to disregard the Bible while at the same time turning a blind eye toward ONE MILLION ABORTIONS PER YEAR in the United States?

These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as
they did... These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written
down to warn us who live at the end of the age. [1 Corinthians 10:6,11, NLT]

And is it possible that God put the kosher laws into the books of Moses so that the Christ could later use them to make a pun about legalistic people being careful about the smallest unclean animal falling into their wineglass while swallowing whole the largest unclean animal?

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees... You blind guides! You strain out a
gnat but swallow a camel. [Matthew 23:23–24, NIV]

Again, is it possible that God created everything in an implausible six days to illustrate the folly of those who cite Genesis as proof of the Bible's mythology while insisting that the scientifically unsupportable Theory of Evolution explains biological speciation?

How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name... [Jeremiah 23:26–27, NIV]

Certainly these things are possible. God's Holy Word is multidimensional. He wrote things in it for the benefit, and edification, and humorous enjoyment of the saints.

For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? [1 Corinthians 9:9–10, NIV]

God is interested in an intimate Father/child relationship with us; He has never been interested in sycophancy, legalism, hypocrisy, pride, or human wisdom.

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we
who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent."
So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant
debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his
wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has
used our foolish preaching to save those who believe... God chose things despised
by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing
what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the
    presence of God.
    [1 Corinthians 1:18–21,28–29, NLT]

  • Indeed, the very premise of your questions (about the similarities between the Old Testament and the Qur'an) is itself suggestive: God knew that the devil would grab hold of Mosaic legalism in the Bible and plagiarize it into his own book (i.e., the Qur'an) while denying the truth of Christ—God knew that the devil would bastardize the intention of the Law (i.e., the show us our sin and point us to the Gospel) in order to set up a false religion based upon legalism (i.e., Islam).  THIS HAD BEEN PROPHESIED (Daniel 7:24–25).

  • It is no coincidence that the Dome of the Rock is built over the place where the Jews offered sacrifices to atone for their transgressions of the Mosaic Law. This, too, had been prophesied (Daniel 12:11).

  • All this being said, I must admit that I do not have a 'foreshadowing' or a 'multidimensional purpose' explanation for every one of the difficult passages in the Bible. And do you know what? That is just fine with me.

    Jesus said,

I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. [Luke 18:17, NLT]

Finally, if you are still disturbed by the six Bible passages listed above, read these twenty-seven Bible passages on proper Christian conduct, and unclench your sphincter:

  • Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
    [1 Corinthians 10:24, ESV]
  • I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others...
    [1 Corinthians 10:33b, NLT]
  • Do everything you can to live a quiet life. Mind your own business.
    [1 Thessalonians 4:11, NIrV]
  • Put [God's people] in mind... not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness
toward all men. [Titus 3:1–2, ASV]
  • If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. [Romans 12:18, NKJV]
  • Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit... [1 Corinthians 14:1, NIV]
  • Be kind and tender to one another. [Ephesians 4:32, NIrV]
  • What is important is faith expressing itself in love. [Galatians 5:6, NLT]
  • Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not
dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
    [1 Corinthians 13:4–5, NIV]
  • Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
    [Galatians 5:26, NLT]
  • Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. [Galatians 6:2, NLT]
  • Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. [Romans 13:10–11, NIV]
  • Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to
those in the family of faith. [Galatians 6:10, NLT]
  • ...put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one
another, and forgiving each other... [Colossians 3:12–13, NASB]
  • Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers... [Hebrews 13:2, ESV]
  • Follow my example. I try to please everyone in every way. [1 Corinthians 10:33a, NIrV]
  • Surely you all know that my joy comes from your being joyful. [2 Corinthians 2:3, NLT]
  • Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's
    faults because of your love.
    [Ephesians 4:2, NLT]
  • Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. [1 Corinthians 13:6, NIV]
  • We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy... [2 Corinthians 1:24, NLT]
  • Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to
those who hear them. [Ephesians 4:29, NLT]
  • God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so
that we can comfort others. [2 Corinthians 1:3–4, NLT]
  • Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander... [Ephesians 4:31, NLT]
  • All of you, put on a spirit that is free of pride toward each other as if it were your clothes. [1 Peter 5:5, NIrV]
  • Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than
    yourselves. [Philippians 2:3, ESV]
  • Let all that you do be done with love. [1 Corinthians 16:14, KNJV]
  • Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been
born of God and knows God. [1 John 4:7, ESV]

Is your mind settled now? Do you see that God is love, and that He does want us to act in accord with the norms of civilized behavior?

I assure you that you will not find similar passages in the Qur'an.

return to questions about Islam

Q: You mention on page 216 that the wars in Muslim lands would worsen in 2011. This is amazing given what happened during the 'Arab Spring' of 2011. What else are you expecting?

A: I visited the person that gave this prophecy in June 2010, and I asked him if he was still expecting 'chaos and lack of cohesion' in the Middle East.  He said that something was going to happen BEFORE the end of 2010 that would precipitate these events in 2011.  I watched the news closely all year, and missed the relevant news item: on December 17, 2010 a young man in Tunisia set himself on fire after the police harassed him over selling fruit without a permit. He was bandaged head-to-toe, and his image was shown all over the Arab world on Al Jazeera. His death was the catalyst for the overthrow of the governments in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and the continued unrest in Yemen, Syria, etc.

What else am I expecting?

There is going to be a civil war in Turkey. I state this much explicitly on page 152, but I will go even further here: the national borders of the Republic of Turkey will not long remain as they are now—the country will be partitioned due to civil strife that will take place between AD 2011 and AD 2022. Jesus Christ will not return without bringing punishment upon the Turkish and Kurdish Muslims who carry the sin of their ancestors who committed genocide against their Christian neighbors ~100 years ago.

I am well-aware that Turkey has the strongest military in the Middle East, and that it is a member of NATO. And I am not predicting that 78 million Turks are just going kill each other or disappear. To be clear, I am predicting that:

  • there will be a civil war in Turkey
  • it will be bloody
  • there will be ethnic-cleansing in parts of the country
  • the national borders will change
  • some of the Turks will give up both Muhammad's Islam and Ataturk's secularism, and will become Christians

If this seems impossible, remember that no one foresaw the complete dissolution of the Soviet Union in the late 1980's (except maybe Ronald Reagan). But a few years later the Evil Empire was gone.

And again, there was not one expert on international affairs that predicted in AD 1913 that ten years hence there would be no such thing as:

  • the German Empire
  • the Austro–Hungarian Empire
  • the Ottoman Empire
  • and the Russian Empire

I wrote this section on the coming war in Turkey on November 18, 2010, and I am willing to stake the legitimacy of my book upon the claim. The Tribulation has already begun (with the September 11th attacks in 2001), but it is about to be kicked into high-gear. If the year AD 2022 passes and the Republic of Turkey is the same nation that it is today, then you will know that I am a liar.

return to questions about Islam

Q: You say in the book that you are not a prophet and that you've received no prophetic revelations. So how do you know about your AD 2011 – AD 2022 prediction for the Republic of Turkey?

A: Many Christians with roots in the former Ottoman Empire have been expecting God to bring this judgment for generations. I know an old Christian woman who has prophesied, "The Turks first traveled west 1000 years ago, and they will leave 1000 years after they came."

We all know that something is going to happen in Turkey before the End of the World. The Word of God makes this clear:

...the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever
touches you touches the apple of his eye—I will surely raise my hand against them so that
their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.
[Zechariah 2:8–9, TNIV]

But the starting point for this specific timeline came from two Christian gentlemen that I met in AD 2006 who claimed to have prophetic revelation. One said that the long-expected war in Turkey will begin in AD 2011 (see Chapter 51 in my book, as well as the Q/A above), and the other said it would begin in AD 2013. These are inline with the end of the Millennium in AD 2014, so I paid attention when they spoke. Also, the first fellow (who cited AD 2011) confirmed that Christ would return in AD 2036—he confirmed it without ever having knowledge of my book before.

The ending point for this specific timeline comes from my interpretation of the '10 days of suffering' predicted by Jesus for the church in Smyrna (Revelation 2:10). The Greek word for 'suffering' is the same one that the Apostle John used for his own exile from his home and church in the city of Ephesus to the island of Patmos. I interpret the ten days as 100 years. The Christian population of Smyrna [modern Izmir], Turkey was killed and exiled in AD 1922; therefore, it should be reestablished by AD 2022.

It is, in fact, scriptural that God works within human history according to timelines. The Bible is replete with numbers and dates. And my 100 year interpretation of Revelation 2:10 for parts of Turkey seems to fit history: there was nearly constant warfare within the Ottoman Empire between AD 1911 and AD 1922, beginning with the Italo–Turkish War, and ending with the Greco–Turkish War. Moreover, a few thousand Turks have already turned from their sins and embraced Christ; there is presently a small Turkish Protestant community in Izmir (ancient Smyrna).

return to questions about Islam

Q: How can Muslims be saved? They are irredeemable.

A: Only the ones with the Mark of the Beast are irredeemable (Revelation 14:9–11). Most of the Muslims don't take their religion seriously enough to pray that regularly to the devil, Allah.

Remember, God is gracious, and He is unwilling that anyone should be lost to hell (2 Peter 3:9). The Holy Spirit has saved Muslims, and He will continue to do it until the final day.

Interestingly, there is already a small community of Protestant Turks in Izmir and Istanbul, numbering a few thousand. That number will grow within Turkey and other Islamic states as the Qur'an, Muhammad, and Allah become less and less credible.

return to questions about Islam

Q: Why do you claim that the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is the 'Abomination that Causes Desolation' of Daniel 12:11? Is it solely because the structure was completed 1,290 years after the end of sacrifices in Solomon's Temple?

A: God had chosen the spot in Jerusalem on which the First Temple would be built. He showed it to King David during a plague.

The Lord's angel told the prophet Gad to tell David that he must go to Araunah's threshing
place and build an altar in honor of the Lord. David followed the Lord's instructions... David
said, "The temple of the Lord God must be built right here at this threshing place. And the
altar for offering sacrifices will also be here". [1 Chronicles 21:18–19, 22:1, CEV]

David's son and heir, Solomon, built the First Temple there. Four hundred years later the Babylonians destroyed it, and seventy years after that the Second Temple was built on the same spot. Just prior to Christ's birth, that Second Temple was remodeled and expanded by King Herod the Great.

It was on that same site (Mount Moriah) where Abraham had been willing to offer his son Isaac eight hundred and fifty years before David's time. God stopped Abraham from sacrificing Isaac, and instead provided a ram to sacrifice.

So the Temple Mount was a place that God had chosen for the Jewish people to sacrifice lambs and other animals in anticipation for the ultimate sacrifice of the Messiah.

And it was on that same Temple Mount where the money changers were driven out by Jesus a thousand years after David's time.

The Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign to justify His authority in cleansing the Temple. He replied,

Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. [John 2:19, NKJV]

The Apostle John tells us explicitly,

He was speaking of the temple of His body. [John 2:21, NKJV]

Thus, Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, and the resurrected Body of Christ is the Third Temple.

The Apostle John reported that in his vision of Heaven,

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its
temple. [Revelation 21:22, NIV]

After Christ's sacrifice there was no more need for animal sacrifices in a temple made of stone-again, the first two were simply a foreshadowing of Christ's body. Therefore, God allowed the Second Temple to be laid waste, just as the Angel Gabriel had predicted as a consequence of the Jew's rejection of the Messiah (Daniel 9:26b).

Any attempt to rebuild a temple on that spot is an abomination. How much more so to build a temple with an inscription that specifically denies the divinity of Jesus Christ—again, over the very spot where ancient Israelite sacrifices were made in anticipation of His crucifixion?

Below is the abominable inscription on the inner face of the octagonal arcade of the Dome of the Rock:

People of the Book! Do not exceed the limits of your faith and do not say anything about
Allah except the truth.
The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, is but a messenger of Allah and His word which He
gave to Mary, and a revelation proceeding from Him.
So trust Allah and His messengers and do not say 'three.' Desist! It is to your advantage
to admit that Allah is a singular God only
. Blessed is He—How could it be that He has
a son?!
To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on earth. Allah is able to take care of it
unassisted.
The Messiah does not consider it beneath his dignity to be a slave to Allah nor do the
angels who are nigh unto Him.
He who considers it beneath him to worship Allah, and whoever is arrogant, He shall summon
both together for judgment.
O Allah! Incline unto Your messenger and slave Jesus, son of Mary and greet him
with peace on the day he was born, and the day he died, and the day when he shall be raised
alive.
The following is the truth about Jesus, son of Mary, about whom you dispute: It is
unseemly that Allah should acquire a son.

Blessed is Allah! Should He decide a thing, He only says to it 'Become!' and it becomes, just
like that.
Indeed Allah is my Lord and yours. Therefore worship Him, for this is a straight path.
Allah Himself is the witness that there is no God but He. The angels and those endowed with
knowledge establish it with justice.
There is no God but He—the Mighty, the Ruler.
Faith in Allah means unity, but those who were given the Book split into factions after
receiving knowledge and endlessly disputed among themselves.
Whoever denies the evidence of Allah, let him be aware that Allah is swift in reckoning.

And this is the abominable inscription on the exterior of the octagonal arcade of the Dome of the Rock:

There is no God but Allah alone, without any other person. Say that He is God—One God
—the Everlasting, who has not begotten and has not been begotten. He is without equal.
Muhammad is Allah's messenger, may Allah bless him.
There is no God but Allah alone, without any other person. Muhammad is Allah's
messenger. Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet.
O you who believe, ask blessings upon him and salute him with all respect. There is no God
but Allah alone. Praise be to Allah who has not taken a son, and who doesn't have any
other person in sovereignty, nor is he humbly dependent upon any other person as a
protector
. Magnify Him with repeated magnificats.
Muhammad is Allah's messenger, may Allah, His angels and His messengers bless him and
Allah grant him peace and mercy.
There is no God but Allah alone, without any other person. To Him belongs sovereignty and
to Him belongs praise. He gives life and He makes to die; He is powerful over all things.
Muhammad is Allah's messenger, may Allah bless him and accept his intercession on the
day of resurrection for his community.
There is no God but Allah alone, without any other person. Muhammad is Allah's
messenger, may Allah bless him.
God's servant, Abd al-Malik, commander of believers, built this dome in the year seventy-two.
May Allah accept it from him and be pleased with him. Amen, Lord of worlds. Praise be to
Allah.

The completion and gold gilding of the Dome of the Rock represents the sending forth of Islamic orthodoxy in AD 699, as foretold in Daniel 12:11–12.

I repeat, what could be more abominable than encircling these messages over the spot where the Israelites once offered sacrifices in anticipation of the Son of God? What could cause more desolation than requiring people to submit to the denial that God is Triune and that He became a man?

Islam is the abomination. Islam causes desolation. The Antichrist Beast of Islam has literally made every land that it has overtaken desolate.

According to Daniel 12:12, this mockery of God Almighty will last 1,335 years past the completion of the Dome of the Rock in AD 699—until the year AD 2034. And then two years later, Jesus will come back from the sky.
